  • Free insulation again

Okay I can't get in on it since my house is gas and electric. My buddy who originally hooked up the 75.00 insulation thread from the last board texted me this number and told me it was on again. I called and she said I could get a reduced rate but no freebie due to having gas and not all electric. 214-254-9952. If I remember correctly we ended up with another hook up on the old board and he did everyone's. I believe if you participated last time you are out also. Enjoy

I guess I missed the other thread...So the 411 from the 911 guy is we might get some free blown in insulation if we call that number and talk to the lady ? Is this a tax rebate deal or how's it work. I need to do some insulation in my rent house. That place is all electric.

I would be interested as my house was built in the 60s. It has some but is a bit thin in several areas.

Yeah how's this work? What do I have to buy to get "free" insulation?

I spoke to her and it's only for Oncor serviced electric homes and it is free.

The program is "Take a Load Off, Texas" (https://www.takealoadofftexas.com/).

Oncor and the state pay the company to come out and spray white fiberglass insulation on the attic, caulk windows and plumbing fixtures, and put on door sweepers.

You must be an Oncor customer and must have electric heat. I asked about year built and income restrictions and she did not say there were any.

                  Thanks Jason!

Neg. She quoted me like 500.00.

Hmmm, truthfully, as soon as she said "oncor only" I stopped listening.

I'll definitely be looking in to this. As of now, the website says to check back for a list of service providers.

For those not eligible, it's very easy to blow in insulation. If you buy a minimum amount of insulation at Home Depot or Lowes, they give you free use of the machine. I did my house a few years back and it was about $380. The wife fed the machine while I sprayed...
Here is the Home Depot stuff. DO NOT get the green stuff..
