I was told initially from the get go it was 8-10 weeks depending upon weather and other aspects, and even though I've changed a few things during the process, we will be right at 10 weeks.
It's been a good experience for me with Hauk. I have a few neighbors who will say the same, and a few that have issues with the other predominant player - Gold Medal.
Either way I have a newer, younger sales guy that designed it for me, texts often and responds regardless of the day, so I have nothing but good things thus far.

Ouch. You bought around '07 after the crash, right? With the updates included I lost my ass on the last house. Bought in late '06.

Yeah, I got the design from Hauk and sent it to the other guys with specs and Hauk was the most willing to negotiate. I think you'll find that they are all comparable to each other, it was just a matter of who wanted by business more by being responsive and attentive.
Shit even 10 years ago they were $20k.... for one that would actually add any value to a house, that is..."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford
