That is coming along nicely. How big is the inside diameter of your firepit? You really want that thing about 30"-36" and no taller than your knee. Otherwise they look awkward. I can't comment on the pool. I bought too many cow skin rugs to afford one. Yours looks bad ass though.

We love our neighborhood in Haslet but we are starting to more and more cookie cutter high density subdivisions. At least all the apartments are still on the other side of the tracks.

It will be a gas fire instead of wood burning, didn't want to deal with the smoke issue.

Sounds about right then. We went with seat height so it can serve as.....seating.

You would be amazed at how little smoke our pit puts off once it is hot and going. The 4" bed of lava rocks and the fire brick lining ensure that sucker burns HOT.
