Pool Build Thread.....

The previous owners left all thier paperwork in the kitchen for us, so I got to see the details.

Bought the house for $178k, had a 10k pool + patio covering done

sold to me $148, 5 years later.

I had a friend spend $35k on a very basic pool and sold his house for $85k more than he bought it for in only 18 months.

The pool isn't what sells the house and all depends on the buyer and other circumstances....

Truth.

I am just not sure I want to take care of one. We have plenty of space but now with the patio where it is and being the shape it is, it would be too far from the house and a little out of place in our yard, maybe.

Wife changed her mind right before grouting so they put in a darker color...

This week it finally feels like an end is in sight... I'm sick of my fence being down, dealing with two large dogs going outside has been a pain in the ass...

Rebar put in this morning, inspection on Monday and pouring concrete early next week. An issue came up with the appliances/doors on the grill so we need to do a little "modification"....

Finally getting back to some progress..... Tile is going in, and they just dumped all of the cushion sand to pour the deck so that should be in the next week.

I didn't see the ledge he was sitting on at first and couldn't decide if he was a giant or you just got a really shallow pool.

Speaking of that ledge, my brother has had 2 pools with a shallow flat like that, and both times had them put hole(s) in them so he can set those crank up umbrellas in them. Makes it nice to sit in the water and still have shade.

He went a little on the big side with his most recent:

Yeah, he has had his shit together since HS. Net worth over $1MM by age 29 (45 yo now). He's been trying to get his partners to sell their business for at least 5 years or so, so that he can retire. Not that he really has to work that hard anymore.
