Here Marcus, check out these pics and see if any of these look like what you have. Maybe that will help in finding the filter.

You could have a few things going on here.

      1. Dirty filter keeps "shutting down" the furnace because it trips the internal safety switch for over heat.
      2. If you recently had your roof repaired from hail damage the roofers could have installed the wrong vent and it is not big enough for the inside unit so it keeps tripping the safety for back pressure.
      3. Your igniter is dirty and that is tripping the safety switch(assuming you have gas heat).
      4. Blower or fan motor is out/going out.

In the attic when you remove the cover is there and led light flashing or solid on? If it's flashing count the 1st sequence of flashes then count the 2nd sequence. I can identify your fault if you have one showing for you

BTW.. If it is gas.. One common thing that I have to do every 1-2 years is to clean the flame sensor in the furnace. Not too big of a deal, I just use some 0000 steel wool and "rub" the sensor. If I don't do it the furnace will just cycle on and off over and over again. Basically, the blower comes on for the 30-60 seconds or whatever, it lights, then it immediately goes out because the sensor does not recognize the flame actually lit. So then the blower continues to run for a couple of minutes and the process starts all over again.

        This is how mine looks:

Have your system checked by a pro. Have them teach you about your system while they're there, furnace or heat pump, filter location, etc. I use Big Bear AC 972-998-9990. Great guy and honest. Then dig around here, there was a thread a while back about a subsidized service to evaluate your insulation, etc.

No offense, but you don't know the difference between an actual furnace and a heat pump with strips. Do make sure to check the filter though. Even posting pics there's likely very little we can do to help over the board; I echo what others said and call a pro to check it out. "Not enough heat" can equate to damn near anything.

usually a tell tell sign of a filter that has not been changed for awhile is, black dust coming from the aor vents

Here's what we're working with up in the attic

I'm gonna hazard a guess and say the return is on the left side where the big hose comes in? So the filter should be between here somewhere, but everything looks like it's been sealed up tight

Filters are either at the unit or at multiple returns in the ceiling/walls. Do you have any there inside the house?

Return vent is in the hallway along the bottom of the wall. Already pulled the vent off looking for the filter but it's not in there.

We've asked the previous owner to come and walk us through the process. The wife told Katrina it was "kinda tricky", so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully they can swing by this weekend.

We did have Window World come out today to give a quote on windows. To replace the 12 main windows it was going to be $3640. That sound like a reasonable amount? The windows alone from Lowes I priced online at $2500, not counting two in the kitchen that are odd sized and weren't available on the website

                      Maybe the house is haunted.

one of my friends owns window co, he's told me that they are ~300 each, depending on options.

Katrina thinks the same thing. Apparently the dogs were barking at "nothing" last night

My dog barks at nothing every damned night. It's called boredom. My money is on insulation. The house I live in was built in 1954 and had a remodel in the 70's. I can feel air coming through the glass. We added on a room and I insulated the piss out of it and used new windows. You will sweat your ass off in that room when the rest of the house is cold.

A friend/coworker just had 18 replaced by lowes to the tune of about 5k. I'm looking to have everything in my house replaced as soon as i can get the kitchen remodel done. Just need another 12k or so. I think when I counted we have 23 windows in the house.

That airhandler install looks like a Siamese abortion. Notice all the rust in the overflow pan? That's because there's no P-trap in the main drain line causing the primary pan to overflow. Plenums look like someone just threw them on as an afterthought and slopped mastic all over everything to cover up, on top of that they don't even fit correctly. You need to call a competent AC guy and have all that lined out, chances are with such a sloppy install, it's probably not wired correctly, short of refrigerant (if it's a heatpump) ducts not sealed or falling off and who knows what else. Good luck!
