To dishwasher or not to dishwasher?

How much if any would not having a dishwasher hurt a homes resale value?
I'm about to do a full kitchen remodel and I really don't want to put a dishwasher back in.
I hate them and never use it, I wash dishes as I go and put them up after dinner so a dishwasher is useless to me and I would rather have the extra storage space I would gain by not having one.
Plus that's just more I would save by not having to buy a new one.

I don't plan on selling the house anytime soon but still don't want to do something that might hurt the resale value or deter potintial buyers.

LOL. Put a dishwasher in... unless you plan to die in the home and not sell it.

When almost every house out there has one and you don't, yes it will affect resale value. Maybe nothing you can quantify in terms of dollars but buyers will surely lean towards the other house.

Leave a space for it and put one in later, if you really don't want one in now. Put a used on in when someone decides to upgrade theirs.

Put one in. With a kid, we run ours almost every day. My next house will have room for two and two ovens, two washers, two dryers and a six station range.

We don't have one and it pains me, everyday. Until the kitchen remodel, i'm almost contemplating a counter-top unit to get us by.

Definitely put one in. Just buy a cheap one if you dont want it. Check best buy clearances

What propeller head said... Put in the plumbing for one capped off just in case. Make it a deep cabinet in the meantime.

put one in. there is no house charming enough to not have a dishwasher in my wife's eyes.

We use ours every night, weather it's full or not.

If it was an apartment/condo in New York, no dishwasher.

A house in Texas, you need a dishwasher, or turn about %90 of possible buyers away.
