  • Installed Gravel Parking pad

Well turns out that when Atmos came out to mark my utilities, I had a high pressure gas line under my back yard that cannot be paved over. So I switched from Concrete to Limestone Gravel. Not as awesome as concrete, but it still works for parking my TT and my brothers pop up on.

We used road base first and compacted it down, then spread out the limestone gravel on top. I am going to get about another cubic yard of road base because it really firms up the limestone when tamped down on top of it.

    Beats parking on grass!

what did something like this run you?

About $500 for a 22x23 pad. That includes the metal retainers, plate compactor rental, and 3 cu yards of road base and 3 cu yards of limestone gravel.

I was contemplating doing something like that. Just a light dusting or ?? I'd like to firm it up even more.

Tex-Art Stone, off Davis Blvd in Southlake/Keller area.

They delivered it and dumped it right in the pad site.

Why does the parking pad need to be 6 inches thick? 4" gravel doesn't budge when I put my 2800 camper on top.

Looks good to me. I'd be happy with that, just need to stay on top of any weeds, grass, etc.

Thanks, I need a 3 car spot. I'll give them a call in the spring.

Depending on what is under it, a lot of times with 4 inches after a lot of rain you will push the new gravel in the dirt base(now mud) and it will start making ruts when you pull in/out.

if it creates a issue with water, then he could make a underdrain at the bottom of the.gravel.
