  • Having a short gas line run..

Does anyone here deal with natural gas plumbing? I'm going to remodel our kitchen. I want to replace the electic oven and range with gas. The fireplace on the opposite side of the wall has a gas line. I want to know roughly how much it would cost for me to have a line forked off of it to fuel a new oven and stove.

That's honestly a really easy job... as in: one that my lazy ass would actually do myself

As easy as it is, are you going to pull a permit? That will change your price quite a bit.

Doesn't matter who does the work, check every connection with windex or soapy water...several times. If you miss one small leak, it's only everyone's life and most of your material possessions.

Just put on your big boy panties and do it. Use pipe dope and a spray bottle of soapy water to check for leaks. You'll be fine.

Be sure and bleed the lines after using your pipe wrench to get every thing tight. You will have zero problems.
