my pool heater went out and i need some help. ive already gotten some quotes on fixing the heater and its going to be better to just go ahead and get a new heater. the heater i currently have on is pretty old and does not have a bypass built in. can i simply cut the pipe shortly before the heater and put a 180 elbow on it for the in/out so that i can start running the pump again? i am trying to avoid the water getting bad... thanks!

Your water won't get bad until it gets warm again. But yes you should be able to just bypass it.
    Whos your Daddy?

Ok so i was able to order a new header after looking at the exchangers (thanks!) Now... the system will light and run no problem but there is a loud popping noise and the system shakes. it almost sounds like when you turn an engine off after running it all day. any idea what it could be? low water flow maybe?

fyi its a Laars Teledyn Series 2. thanks!
