Just curious if anyone ever had an asphalt driveway put in instead of or over gravel. How much? How long do they last?

I am curious on this as well. I have a dirt drive which absolutely sucks. My shop is behind the house which is dirt as well. I definitely can't afford to concrete the whole thing. Anyone know someone that does this for a living? Could use a quote.

There are some guys down here in Houston that will do it .75 a sqft as long as you already have a rock base."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"

Not sure if they still do it but years ago we laid down shingle tabs on my grandparents driveway. After a couple of summers it is packed really smooth and pretty solid. Don't remember the price but it was pretty cheap for a couple dump truck loads just had to spread it our self. No dust and a nice smooth drive. Also does not wash away since it sticks to itself.
