Looks like it was 450 well spent to make another selling point for the house.

It looks good and is a great solution for getting a house ready to sell but I cant help but think the first time something heavy is dropped that the coating will chip and the white will show thru. Did you consider the pre-fabricated faux granite formica countertops? I have seen those at Home Depot and they look pretty good and are fairly cheap.

I've looked at those a number of times. I even installed them in my parents house when I remodeled their kitchen years ago, so I'm familiar with how they work. This just made the most sense to us.

The ability of the surface to take abuse was something I considered, and asked about. It is essentially the same process as bedliner, with a clear coat. People drop heavy stuff in truck beds all of the time, so we'll see if it's comparable.

a company from Texas did this for many of the apartment complexes a family member overlooks. It provided a great finish and really "updated" the look just like it did your kitchen. My family member got them on a day off to come do two bathrooms for around $150. That was over a year ago and it still looks great... much better than the HD or Lowe's kits I've seen.

That looks pretty good. We've got these hideous seafoam green corian countertops. I wonder if this is a viable option until I get around to a full remodel...

Save the $ 4-500 and do it right once if you plan on staying there. No reason to spend a big chunk like that twice just because you are eager to do it.

I'm wondering why I didn't have it done sooner. Completely changed how I feel about this kitchen.

Am curious why didn't you try the diy kits they sell everywhere before hiring a pro, time constraints?

Time constraints have been a big factor. I've done everything in this house from paint and new trim, to laying tile/hardwood floors and spraying texture on walls that had been wallpapered. I have never done countertops and needed a "pro" finish the first time. As I mentioned, I've looked at the kits for years now and just never felt like I would achieve the look I wanted.

When you factor in the prep that they did (caulk, masking, etc) and the fact that they were done in under 3 hours, it was a bargain IMO

I did this to my counter in my old house I sold in June. Only cost me $300 to have someone do it for me and most of the showings left a specific comment about how good it looked.

If it's something you're considering, there's no reason not to do it.

Any idea how robust it is? How long it will last?
