  • Good way to repair main water line that bends?

3rd time so far that i've repaired/replaced this line in last 2 years. Breaks at exact same spot cuz dumbass builder was building this house on napkins or something.

Main water line from street bends down at about 20-30 degree angle to meet up with a different line that is main water line. ( 2 different types of line btw, one is pvc one is gator) It always breaks right in the middle of the gator line that bends down.

    (goes does about 2-3 feet)

I can't move water line up or move gator line down ( gator line goes all the way to city supply )

    I've tried the following methods

    Replaced whole line
Replaced just broken portion with double clamps?? (hd recommended so far has lasted the longest)
replaced line and wrapped it in some weird netting to prevent roots from getting in ? ( no root problem but it is beside a tree.)

How do I fix it to make it semi permanent? tired of digging up my yard every few months to fix this.

I believe its called gator line ( basically pvc with some special material inside wrapped in pvc) about 2x the cost of pvc since its "special"

Admittedly I'm not too familiar with this gator line you're referencing but can you post a picture of how the water lines join together? How long of a line are you talking about that you've previously replaced?

I'm still using a copper water line at my place that's nearly 40 years old.

The only gator line I'm familiar with is that of weed eater type trimmer string. Need some pics to see what you're taking about.

Its ironic that home depot doesn't put this thing on its website. I"ll post a pic when I start digging. Its some special pvc flexible pipe that's green and the couplers cost $22 each.

Dug it all up and leak is nowhere to be found. Leaving my trench open for a day or two to see if leak develops here are the pics of previous repairs.

          Whole line. green but dirty.

Must be qwest. You need to replace the whole line it will never stop splitting. So from the water meter it drops down??

Hand dig both ends. Rent ditch witch lay new line. I went through the same thing on my rentals and had more time in splices than running a new line.

It actually didn't split I cut a piece out like an idiot for those 2 splices. This line ties into a PVC line that was already partially replaced

Goes down about 10-14 inches to tie into the pvc
