I heard Pearl's Premium is a very slow growing hybrid that is drought and heat tolerant. They have 2 variety's of seeds... direct sunlight and mostly shade.

Cool! Didnt know about that. Might give them a ring and see if they have a recommendation for tx grass that barely grows.

I saw Perl Premuim on google so I am looking into that one too. Seem like if somebody finally bred the perfect grass, it could put a whole industry out of business. Or at least cause them to lose a ton of money

there are hybrid bermuda grasses (mini verde, for example) that are ultra dwarf hybrids used on golf courses (including mine), there isnt a lot of top growth, but if left unmaintained they will die, grasses like this still need maintenance in the form of fertilzer, fungicide, insecticide, dethatching and aerifying. at the max height , i have only ever seen it get to 1/4" tall, that was during my grow in period. my spare green used for fill in hasnt been mowed but a few times this year, still takes a lot of water with normal fertilizer apps to keep it healthy and the price is way up there. typically i keep the grass height around 1/8" on the greens. I have never tried to maintain it has a home lawn. I did see a few years ago there was a dwarf st.augustine and i believe a zoysia (call diamond), the zoysia has a fitting name.
