  • Grass you dont have to mow

I get tired of mowing my grass and I have to wear a mask due to alergies. I have heard here and there about a certain kind of grass that only grows a few inch tall. Some kind of hybrid grass they bred to be that way. Anybody here ever heard of it? Its supposed to be highly drought resistant too so you don't water it much. Found one but this guy says you still have to mow twice a year. I don't want to mow at all! lol

But i have heard about ones you never mow.

It's a fescue. Very unlikely to even survive in Tx sun.

    The concept sounds good though.

I'd buy into it just to reduce water, fuel and maintenance costs.

Just do your yard like in New Mexico and fill it up with rocks and a decent design. Big up front investment, but about as close to zero maintenance as you can get.

Bs. With the rain get, you have lawn, with a lawn mower chunking gravel, every time.

I've had to cleanup a "yard" like this in Tulsa. Fuk that.

I think he posted what I was about to say...

                    1. Still going to have weeds - easily treated with weed killer though.

                    2. REALLY expensive if you have more than a postage stamp yard.

I thought synthetic grass would be awesome until I was at a friends with a pool who has it. When it is hot out and you are barefoot the grass is just as hot as the cement to walk on.

I have fescue in CA. Stays green all year, and barely grows at all. Crazy soft too, I love it.
