Long story short I got a 2300 square foot house. 3/4 of the way done with the whole thing. But I still got acoustic ceilings through the WHOLE house! How much would it cost to have a pro do it all? Take them down and put texture up. Doing this in 6 months but want to start learning the ins and outs now.

Take a small sample of it and have it tested for asbestos. The analysis only costs $10 or so. -

No reason to have a pro do it, it's easy as hell. It makes a big mess, but put plastic down and walk softly and you will be fine. Get a bucket with water and long nap paint rollers. Roll it with water, let it soak in for a few minutes, and it will scrape right off with a tile scraper.Originally posted by BradMOriginally posted by LeahComment

Thanks yeah I've looked into it some more. I can get it all down. But I am not too sure about my ability to spray texture on all the ceilings. I have never done that. Plus painting them. House was built in 83, so I hope I don't have asbestos. I'll get the test. Maybe I should have asked

Do you mind talking about the price? I suspect it will be about $2000 to spray the ceilings through the whole house. But who knows maybe its double that.WHComment
