  • doors always swing closed

So most of the interior doors in our house were squeaking, so i hit the hinges with some WD40. Well now, half of the doors wont stay open, they close on their own, which drives me nuts. Does this always mean foundation issues, or is there something else going on? We have no other signs of foundation issues (windows and doors all open and close perfect, no cracks in walls or floors)

Well, the earth IS turning, you know...

It sounds like there are definately foundation issues, but it might not be enough to see anything elst, yet. Either that, or your foundation might not have been perfectly level to begin with.

More than likely, they just weren't hung square. I've even seen where they close when the a/c or heat kick on when the register is pointed towards the door.

I have two doors doing the same thing, house is only about 8 years old, crappy workmanship nowadays. Lucky it its the entry from the garage, then into the kitchen from the laundry room, both doors are close to each other, so I just used a bottom flip down door stop on the garage door, and a magnetic wall mount for the kitchen entry. Not pretty but better than nothing when bring in stuff from the garage.

Wow that's dumb all you gotta do is take the pin out the hinge and bend it a little. And also hit the hinge with a hammer with the pin it if it needs some tweaking afterwards.

Slightly bending pins > foundation repair! LOL!

Exactly. I do not think it is necessarily foundation related. I have seen doors do this on homes with zero foundation issues.
