Sprinkler box lid driving me crazy

My dog likes to chew on them and I am replacing some. They appear to be 6 inches in diameter but when you buy the ones from Home Depot or Lowes, they dont fit snug. They just kind of spin around and around instead of locking into place. Has anyone else ever dealt with this and what is the solution? Not digging out the boxes for the sake of a lid would be nice.

A couple of sheet metal screws from the sides will do the trick. You really don't need access to the valves unless there is a problem.

My dog got the covers off and chewed all the solenoid wiring on 5 different boxes.

Same here. At least 5 times now. And if one is chewed up, none if the zones work since the circuit is complete. If it wasnt fir my kids, I would have dropped her off somewhere a long time ago

Duct tape/gorilla tape should do the trick.
