I have a "havahart" electric dog fence that I have used in the past. I took it down because if was an eye sore when I had it ran all around the back yard. Anyway my dog has been digging and tearing up the fence and I am putting up a small section of it. It is a small 110 box that has a power stud and a ground stud, on which you wrap the wire around and secure with a wing nut. The power wire will be the line ran where you need it secured in place with 1/2 inch pvc stakes and cotter pins. The ground wire is just wire ran to a metal stake in the ground. The fence isn't working, (I touched it) and am needing help determining if the box is even working. How can I determine if the box has power?

Mine pulses, so I was thinking it was bad too. I grabbed the wire to pull it off and got a zap after a second. If you grab both terminals, and you dont get a shock after a second, you have a bad unit. If you have it all working and grab the wire but dont feel it, take off your shoes and try again."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

One of those pen looking deals that lights up and or tones when you get it near power is what I use to check mine."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford
