I've been push-mowing an acre for a few months now. If I weren't paying for a big vacation, I would be all over this

      Seb's high class.
      He'll mow your grass.
      He'll kick your ass.
And while his kidney stones pass,
      He'll piss in a glass!

        1. Seeing a lot of good buys on the facebook garage sale groups.
        2. Craigslist
        3. Sometimes it does make sense to have someone do it for you. i.e. The person I use in a pinch charges 75 dollars. I'm 1500 into a zero turn, 200 weedeater, 300 mower, 100 into another weedeater, around 100 in parts per year and guesstimate 200 in gas per year. (will get with SEB - but with distance, I think SEB is going to be a better option for project based work)

That's 32 mowings before I get ROI - that's not including gas going up or buying new gear - plus my time.

However, in my raising - it's just what you do. You mow your own damned lawn. I used to push mow two 4 acre lots when I was a kid. One was my own place and the other was an older lady. She paid me 10-15 dollars to do it. lol

Still, if in a pinch and not ready to shell out the cash for a bigger mower - can't hurt to have someone do it for you.

For that small amount of land I'd find a nice used riding mower in the 1k range and let it bump. You won't wear it out mowing that small amount.

I've got a 15 year old snapper with a kohler that has been beat to shit and still running strong. That kubota posted is a nice rig, but you could buy a couple year old zero turn with a welded deck in winter time for that kind of money.

I bought my Kubota 16 years ago and I have changed the oil 3 or 4 times(I know), changed 1 belt(don't think it needed it), 2 batteries,1 set of blades and 2 tires. That's it nothing else, still fires up and mows nice. Money well spent.
I made some bright orange paint for it last week. Gona give it a nice flame job and a new seat next weekend, should be good for another 10 or 15 years.
