  • Garage door opening randomly

I recently programmed my external keypad that opens my garage door. Every since then the door will open randomly (never close) on its own. At first I thought it was my kids not closing it but I have witnessed it myself several times now.

I thought maybe a neighbors opener picked up my code when I was re-programming the external keypad. Each time it has opened that I have witnessed there was no activity by my neighbors garage doors though.

I even have an 'lock' feature that we set each night that would prevent the external keypad from being used or a clicker. However even this has been defeated which baffles me to how this freaking thing is opening on its own.

Any ideas or resident garage door experts please chime in......

You may be sharing a code with a neighbor. They can have a decent range. It happens occasionally.

This...I've had that happen before. Just change codes and you probably won't have the issue anymore.

sorry bout that, I had to split in a hurry, and must have tripped the optical sensor in my haste.

Clear all the programmed remotes (including keypad), and try to program everything.

                      Hey, 95DRGT!!
I think I can help you and I believe if it works then you can use my suggestion every time when ever you find any kind of problem
Can you tell me have you ever tried to Re-Program it?? If not please try to do so, it would definitely help you to sort out with your problem, and if considering me then I used to try this method when I used to have problems!!
