Looking for a pool guy in the Sachse, garland, Murphy area too. The house I just bought has an older, well kept, chlorine pool with a Polaris, and thermal cover, but I'd like someone to come regularly give it a once over so it stays nice

I've got an inground pool, and I clean/maintain it myself.

Seems like I spend between 1 and 2 hours per week on the pool. Sometimes I break it into 2 sessions in a week. Winter is very low maintenance.
The $150 per month maintenance, is worth my 6 hours a month.

I just put in a oversized DE system, with a high efficiency pump, and auto chlorinator. My pool also has a Polaris 3900 cleaner with a booster pump. I clean out the Polaris bag once a week when I check the chlorine tablets and add as needed. My electric bill has been stupid cheap and my pool water is fantastic. I run the pump 4 hours on 1800 RPM and 4 hours on 1100 RPM. The booster pump/ Polaris runs for 1 hour a day.

I have natural stone decking so no salt for me as it will crust up on the stone. I did have a salt pool years ago and I did like the difference in the water.

I have an inground, 22, 000 gallon with a de filter and a polaris 360. I spend very little time maintaining it. With a little practice and some reseach its not hard to do it yourself. I can't even imagine spending $140 a month to keep my pool clean.

You can take measurements and a sample of water to leslies and they can help. They dont know everything (depending on who you end up talking to) but they can run a water balance test and generally get you pretty close on the size.

I moved into this house 7 years ago and it has a salt water pool. Things Iv learned-
                          check/clean pool weekly
If the water gets green the filter pressure will go higher and cause the pumps to work too hard. Which will burn up your pumps(Ive rebuilt mine 4 times each and replaced the main pump 3 times). If your trying to clear the water you need to check the filter pressure every few hours. When the pressure is high backwash the filter.
Do not use anything but 100% salt. Sometimes places like Sams/lowes will stack water softener next to pool salt.

last time I replaced my pumps I bought a high efficiency motor as a replacement and it made a huge difference in my electrical bill. The pumps I replaced were a year old.
