how many have swimming pools. do you clean your own pool or do you have some one come out and clean them. trying to decide to learn how to clean the pool or have someone do it for awhile. where are some nice pool stores.

If you can afford to have someone do it I'd go that route. When I had mine I spent more time cleaning and maintaining it than I did using it. It was a huge pain in the ass.

I pay for someone to come out weekly and clean and maintain the pool, chemicals included. The downside to a pool is that you cant get behind and catch up, you spend a ton of time getting it back to right if you let it go. I like to spend my off time doing other things than working on cleaning up the pool.

I have a coworker that does it on the weekends. Where is your house at?

Anyone have a company they recommend in Dallas - Lake Highlands? The house I bought has a saltwater pool. I'll research next month about maintenance but if it's a pain in the ass I'm just paying someone.

one guy tht came says Salt is the way to go. i read a few articles that say its bad on some of the older pools/equipment, cause there are not designed for salt. also they are less maintance.

salt systems are great, as long as the pump is running, you have salt in the pool, and the generator is working you dont have to worry about a residual chlorene level. I will eventually get a generator installed and convert it, and likely lose the pool guy altogether. Salt pools are that easy.
