Mounting flag to Aluminum Columns

Hi guys,

I need to get my flag mounted on the front of the house. The problem is that the house has these fluted aluminum columns on the front. Do any of you have experience mounting a flag to these things? I know I can use self tapping metal screws to do the job but I don't know if the columns can will do the job. I'm concerned the mount will tear away from the pole under moderate wind loads.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

( I'm trying to find a pic I've seen before of a flag (American) on a pile like that and I want to say it basically had hose clamps going around the pole holding the mount on I have a brick pillar I'd like to put a mount on but don't really want to drill into the brick
