Question about new home warranties...

We're starting to venture down the path of a new home build. We checked out two builders today and HOLY HELL it's over-whelming!! I was wondering if this warranty is pretty much standard among all builders...

It's a Gehan home
1yr workmanship/materials
2yr delivery portion of systems (whatever that means)
10yr major structural defects

Most are the same. The 10 year structural is really just the slab. Most window companies worth their salt, offer a longer warranty for the seals in the windows. Appliances have their own warranty. Shingles are the same. That first year is the most important and how they deal with customers.

ok, cool. so do I need to get the manufacture information for windows, appliances, HVAC, etc. from the builders in case I need them down the road or will they have all that on file?
