If anyone cares for updates...its been about 6 weeks working on the house. I was hoping to be a lot further along but I have been doing 60-65 hours a week at work. Tomorrow we will be framing in new walls and hopefully take out some old ones. Also, the office windows will be coming out and we will frame in and close in the office. It will have a single 72" french door. The windows are just a single pane of glass held in by 1/4 round trim.
This will be the kitchen (taken from dining room)

Total cost to this point: $892 (dumpster and some craigslist labor). The dumpster was a 40yd dumpster filled to the top. We had 10.2 tons of crap that my dad, fiance and I manually lifted and put into it. Way more than I thought.

Hope you picked the place up cheap. I did a total gut on the rent house I bought a few years ago.

I think it was a good deal. It was exactly what we wanted. We were really looking to build but $250k on top of our $200k land makes taxes $12000 per year.

Picked up this house for $150k on an acre with a 35x35 garage for the 2 mustangs and all my tools. Taxes is about $3000/yr. Hope to be in it for $190k with a brand new interior. Keeping a close eye on the budget...many people said there is no way I could do it for $30-40k

How many sq ft and bed/baths? I put $30k in mine with all new hardie siding and windows along with central hvac plus the interior gut. Mine is 1100 ft 3/1
