  • How in the....

HELL do you get the damn dryer hose to attach to the back of the dryer? I fought with it for 20 min, cut off 6" of hose and resorted to duct tape....

Well no shit! I have the damn clamp. I couldn't get the hose itself to slide over the outlet on the dryer. I got sick of fighting with it and just fucking taped it in place.

I am not sure how flammable ducktape is but I wouldn't feel comfortable with that.

I used to take the back of the dryer off. Run the hose through the hole, attach it to the dryer flange with said clamp. Put back of dryer on over attached hose...........

Pretty sure if it doesn't get hot enough to ignite the mass amounts of lint that build up inside of your dryer, its not going to ignite the duct tape.

The vent hose I have is one of the ones that has the wire coiled through it. The circumference of the coils isn't big enough to fit over the outlet coming out of the back of the dryer, so I would remove some of the tube, hoping to be able to get enough of the coil to make contact with the outlet and stretch it over the outlet enough to get the clamp on it, then the hose would rip.

I always get the screw clamp and put it over the dryer vent outlet. If you tighten it you can see it compress ever so slightly and presto the hose now fits....

hose must have been too small. I take mine off a couple times a year to clean it out and it easily goes onto the drier and clamp holds it on.

I'll look for a different hose next time I'm at the hardware store.

Must be wrong size. I have never had a problem with one fitting properly.
