What a lot of people fail to realize is that getting the tile up in chunks is the easy part. The floor needs to be CLEAN and FLAT, and that is the work. If you're putting down cork, wood, or other tile, the old mastic or "thin set" has to be ground off. A lot of my tile was on sub-floor (wood) because I'm in a split-level house. Taking that shit off of wood is a whole different ball game.

I some what enjoyed removing the tile from my bathroom. But then again I took a sledge to everything and went to the frame. Great stress relief.

All grouted. It will dry lighter. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. We'll be painting the walls, installing the new toilet and new vanity later tonight/this week ourselves.

Damn I really need to remodel our two bathrooms, but both of them have wallpaper and I really don't want to tear it down and have to texture the walls, and paint, and all that mess. I hate wallpaper with a passion, but I hate replacing it. Our countertops are in bad shape, as is one sink, and the shower needs to be retiled VERY badly.

What did the one bathroom remodel cost you, OP?

Tim, is the wall that has the faucet/outlet on it just sheetrock and textured? I'm suprised the other two walls around the tub aren't tile as well.

                            Looks great, Tim.

I'm really starting to like those hanging vanities. Makes me want to ditch the one I've got waiting to go in my guest bath.
