Need a good plumber in Arlington asap

Well Kobuzz's plumber went MIA on me. I talked to him Monday and he said to call him this morning and he wont answer the phone or return my calls so I caved and called Baker Bros plumbing. I much rather talk to a secretary anyway.

Came out, quoted me a flat rate of $629 to locate and fix the leak. Also just for giggles I asked about replacement of the whole thing and he quoted $2700 to do that so I guess the $3k quote wasnt out of the question after all.

plumber is the easiest job in the world... if you dont mind getting dirty. like really dirty. crawling under a house with a leaking sewer line dirty

I dont know, I dont mind working on cars getting greasy as all hell. Actually I love that but give me a shovel and Im freaking useless.

I also tried sweating some copper pipes last year here at the house and had absolute hell for some reason. I finally gave up on that one and hired a plumber to finish the job.

Had these guys come out today to test for a slab leak, reccommended by MikeC. They also do leak location and misc work

Thanks but Baker Bros just finished up. I ended up going with a new pipe from the street to the house, $2706

The old pipe was around 5' down. It left the meter and went straight down. It was corroded for the first 20 feet too. I just said screw it and had them change out the whole thing. 5 year warranty so I shouldnt have to worry about it.

No problem at all, talked to him Monday and he sounded like a nice guy. Just MIA today and never called me back. Stuff happens though, he may have had something important come up.

Wtf? How old is the house?

Built in 1986

Pipe came out out of the city box about 6" and went straight down. They guessed at 5' but the longest probe he had was about 3' long and he couldn't get to it. They ended up cutting the off and were only able to recover about a foot of copper on both ends. Replaced it all with PEX.
