Bought this cheap propane heater from lowes for $99, had a 25lb propane tank already, had it filled. My shop is 24 x 36 and this thing heated it from 61 degrees to 72 in 14 minutes. After about 30-45 minutes I had turned it off cause it was almost too warm lol. My shop has spray foam insulation, so Im sure that helps but still impressed none the less. Nice price if your looking for something and don't want the diesel/kerosene smell in the shop.

30,000BTU is a bit much for a garage shop like mine. I'm seriously thinking of getting one of these instead.
It cost a little more but you have the option of going with the 1lb propane tanks or that 25lbs tank. It maxes out at 18000BTU but can go down as low as 4000BTU. It can heat up a 400sq ft room for 108hours on 20lbs of propane..

My garage and garage door is insulated so that helps but the other day it was 48 degrees in there and after about 45 mins with this thing running it got up to 74.

My garage is on the rear of the house and faces east so it really doesn't get any direct wind hitting it so I know that helps also

I also keep a carbon monoxide detector nearby. The heater has a built in oxygen depletion sensor that turns off the gas if there isn't enough O2 (or too much CO^2) in the garage..
