Laminate Flooring In Bedroom

I'm getting real tired of the carpet in my master bedroom & have been thinking about replacing it with Laminate Flooring. With so many options out there how do I choose the correct laminate? I am on a budget but don't want to just buy something cheap for the sake of the price. I'd rather save a little more for better quality. Any advice would be great!

the 12x12 peel and stick tiles work great if u take the time to do it right

Sams carries an off brand name made by Pergo. I used it in the rent house and it was pretty decent. (price and quality). I was pleased with the quality and install. It had the backer already installed as well... I am going to use the tile that looks like real wood in my own house this spring

The thicker the better- use a good quality underlayment to help deaden sound and temp.

Go with a wood floor if you can swing it. My inlaws have laminate and it sounds like hollowed out shit when you walk across it and even worse when the dog walks across it. I've never regretted putting down wood floors in my house once.

You can find occasional deals on wood around town if you're not buying a shit ton, it's not much more than the cheapy stuff.

I going to be doing mine in a few weeks, same thing in my master bed. I found either a Pergo (off brand) or Kronos at a supplier in Plano. Im going tomorrow, ill get back with more details. Supposed t be real durable and not too baad on price. Its engineered with real wood on top of some type of wood backing.

I went with Engineered wood for most of my house. The quality is close (sound wise) to real hardwood. Get the thickest you can afford and a quality underlayment. Also, check places like G&S Sales in Terrell. That's where mine is from. Big selection and you can negotiate quite a bit.

I'm thinking about Doing the thick textured vinyl planks on my first floor. It is that or hardwood but I think the vinyl will be more forgiving on my kid when she falls.

'Casa' is the brand and they are made in Germany, everything else was made in China, PRC, etc. A few companies in the USA, but this brand has a lifetime warranty and 45 year commercial warranty.
Floor Decor in Plano but they have a few stores around, only two color choices and $1.99 a sq.ft. in this brand (8.5mm or 10mm), I cant remeber there was a lot of stuff.
I believe I will be doing this route.

I agree with going engineered. Laminate is tough but sounds hollow when you walk on it.

They have made some vast improvements in the underlayment. They had a golf ball test on the cheap foam and the good stuff, you can tell a big difference. $69.00 a 100ft roll, I need 3 of them, lol.
