  • Interior Design question

In two weeks I'm going to have more Hardwood flooring installed like I did 6 months ago. My question is should the wood flooring be layed in the same direction as the rest of the house or can it go in a different direction. Current wood floor runs north and south and we are thinking about running the new area east and west. The two areas do not butt up to one another and are seperated by a a 14ft tile hallway and a door. I'm just wondering what is the industry standard for this.

The installers will know. Since they don't connect, it's not a big deal. Sometimes the way it lays out can save a little material and just have a nicer look.
