Whats your budget? I personally cant stand the belt driven ones that you typically find at home depot and such.

I love my Husquvarna (sp?). I bought it last year this time around. When I don't leave the ignition on between uses it starts up like a champ. I mow a lot that is roughly 1.4 acres and can usually get it done in an hour and I have a real fucked up ditch to cut that takes a lot of time.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

$3500-$4500 Max. Only one I like from Home Depot is the TORO Time cutter.

This ^^^^ you could buy a nice almost new commercial for that kind of coin if you search around.

I have a 50" Cub RZT unit with the Kawasaki engine that I paid $2600 for at the local big box store. Although it only has 164 hours on it, in the 4 years I've owned it, I've never had a single issue cutting my 2.5 acres. I change the oil twice a year (once preseason and once midseason) and I typically clean the deck after use. I just replaced the blades for this coming mowing season. It's all about the maintenance of the mowers imo. And for only a little over an acre, I would not spend the coin for a commercial mower.

Gravely. The base model is like a box store brand but a tad bit better but everything else is very nice. I bought the HD 48 and you can jump up and down on the deck on either side with out it moving. I can mow my acre, at half speed, in about 30 minutes. Does not have some of the other annoying safety features either. Just has a hand brake by the seat that has to be engaged if you step off. Also it rides and drives 100 percent better then my buddies Cub Cadet and I believe mine was 800.00 more then his.

                        No its all flat.

Currently looking into the Scag Freedom 48" or 52" deck. I really like the deck and the blade spindle construction. One of the main failures on my dads Husqvarna is the blade spindle the other is the Honda engine.

check out craigslist..lots of mowers for sale. Dixie Chopper and Bad Boy (retarded name) are also great commercial grade mowers.

Scag, Dixie, Kubota, and Gravely are all solid from what I gathered when I did my homework.

Gravely had zero down, no interest, or payment for six months when I bought mine. Paid it off with no early fees.
