  • Refinished TV stand

We finally upgraded our TV this year. Nothing special, a Sceptre 40". Along with the TV came a new couch. We had to rearrange the living room for the couch, that mixed with the fact that the new TV didn't fit in the old entertainment center left us with the TV on a bookshelf. Jenn looked for a while for something she liked but couldn't find anything. I remembered I had this tired peice of furniture in storage:

It was given to me at some point and I used it for a workbench when I was casting model car pieces. The finish was wrecked, stains from the two part resin, as well as some that had cured on top. After some work with a sander, and a few coats of paint, this is where it is at now:

Still a bit left to do. I need to paint the media shelf and we need to find some knobs for the drawers. The drawers were painted with turquoise and the same chocolate brown used for the outside was dry brushed on top to give it a weathered look. The jury is dtill out on the drawers.

if you have toddlers in the house lose the drawers or else they will have everything out of them and you will have finger prints all over your new tv screen

Just about finished with this finally. We found some hardware that she liked this weekend and got them mounted last night. I need to pick up shorter screws. Other than that, the media shelf needs painted and I can take this project off of my list
