AC HELP for JOHN

Rach called John earlier saying the AC wasn't working. He had her go outside to see if the fan was coming on and she said it is

when my capacitor went out the fan did not come on... is this true for all units or could john get lucky and it have more then one and maybe his compressor isn't coming on or something?

John's on his way home right now to look at it but I am hoping someone here can point him in the right direction

It will have a fan and compressor capacitor or a dual one. They trip the breaker sometimes too

When my cap let go, fan still came on, compressor would not.

Ended up being the compressor. John paid someone to replace it yesterday and all is cool in the John house now
