Any tree trimming service recommendations?

Hi guys,

The new house has a shit ton of trees. Unfortunately the previous owner didn't do nearly enough to keep them up. There are lots of dead branches over the driveway and the house. I was able to get most of the branches over the house but a few are just too high up. The ones over the drive way are wayyy too high.

It also looks like one of the trees overhanging the driveway is infested with some sort of ants. I threw a small 2x4 at one of the rotting tree branches to gauge its strength. Not only does it look like a good wind will knock it off but a shit ton of ants came pouring out of the branch. I'm concerned that they might be carpenter ants.

So, do any of you have recommendations for an Arborist?

Do you want an arborist or a tree trimming service. Arborist will be more expensive than some daylaborers trimming trees

Thats a good question. I'm gonna say I want a service that has a certified arborist because some of these trees may need a bit more than a trim. The ant infestation is a little worrisome. I want to know if they are destructive or not. I also want to know if any other trees have issues. There are perhaps 3 or 4 trees around the house that need trimming of old dead branches.. I'd do it myself but they are out of the reach of your standard pole saw.

There is an old guy a block over who is an arborist in his 60s. This guy is my hero. He was declined from the police force due to his age though he is in better shape than almost any police officer around. So, he went to arborst school and now climes big ass trees with chainsaws.

I can get his number if you want an arborist. I believe he only offers arborist services, no full tree removal.
