  • Can anyone identify this weed?

I found this growing all over the fence of the new house's back yard. It is HUGE. These things are everywhere. It's even gotten way up into the trees.

OK, all joking aside, anyone know what species of grapes these might be? Are they a type of wine grape? Is there anyone I can contact? I might need a new hobby..

Even the kind that aren't tasty to eat are still good for jams/jelly/wine. If you ever taste a mustang grape you'll think you got ahold of poison. The burn your mouth and taste awful, but can make some good jelly. I don't know what kind those are, but I am learning about them too since I found some growing. Probably muscadine.

Looks like wild Mustang grapes. Mom used to make jelly from them. We had them in trees along the creek on the farm. When you pick and strip them from the stems wear rubber gloves. They have a lot of acid and will burn your hands. You can make jelly an she used to harvest the juice and freeze it for later use. They are not a good "Eating" grape. They make good wine too.
