  • Anyone familar with Vinyl plank wood flooring?

Anyone used vinyl plank wood flooring? Looks just like Pergo, goes in the same plank by plank method. But it's waterproof, VERY durable, and flexs with floor.

I don't know, but thats whatI want to put in our living room because the foundation is so bad. The flooring will bend with the floor and like you said, waterproof .I've. Heard good things from what I've read.

Prep work has to be done right.

The appliance store that I worked for in Corpus installed the vinyl plank (wood look) flooring in the showroom. It held up very nice and still looked good as new even after a couple of years in a very high traffic situation.

We have it in all of the bedrooms in our house and just installed it in the living room of my grandmother's house... What exactly are you wondering?

I have it throughout two houses. I used the Allure sold by Home Depot. What attracted me to it is that it sticks to tabs to the next plank, not the floor under it so there is no prep work other than sweeping and vacumming really well so no pebbles could leave a dent pointing up. It conforms to an irregular foundation on its own. Spills are no issue. Whatever you do though, don't wax it. I made that mistake and it shows every little scuff when I did. I also like that it doesn't have that hollow sound like laminate. You can install it yourself with a box cutter, square, and tape measure.

We have Allure from Home Depot as well, and are very happy with it. We have installed it in a little over half of our house, including a bathroom and the kitchen (love that it is waterproof).

Installed it all ourselves. It's not complicated but not super easy either. Prepping takes longer than laying the floor though. Well, keeping in mind that our house was built in 1961, so needs a little extra effort in some cases.

Pics? Wife want to be rid of the linoleum in our place. Its in the bathroom and kitchen. How would you marry it to where the carpet meets.

Allure is one of the best flooring products to come out imo. I'm slowly installing it as a replacement for the carpet in my rentals. My inlaws installed it throughout their entire home other than the kitchen/baths that were tile. The stuff is tough, looks great, installs easily, and you can cut out a damaged piece and patch it if you needed to.

                      I will grab some..

We looked at dozens of different samples and had several flooring guys come out, and nobody could get anything that looked as nice as the Allure. Looks like real hand scraped wood.

Same way as any other wood, tile or whatever..

We bought all of the flooring back last October or something.. And have done a little at a time. The last few pics are from her daughters room that we just did last weekend.

As of now we have done the 3 kids bedrooms, hallway, entryway, main bathroom, front living room and kitchen.

The only rooms we have not done are the master bedroom and bath, the office, and the den.

We had planned on leaving the den and master carpeted but I think we are going to at least do the den now, if not everything.
