My wife and I built our house about 11 years ago when we were only 21 years old. Our taste has changed over the years and we now hate our all white kitchen. We are thinking of starting our next project and updating the kitchen a little. I dont want to spend $20k and go all out, but we were thinking of stainless appliances, granite counter top, back splash and new tile on the floor. Iv heard that new cabinets can cost an arm and a leg though...
we currently have all white cabinets, but they are not real wood. they are particle board with that melamine, vinyl or whatever covering. Im wondering is there anything I can do with these existing cabinets to refinish them? One of the cabinet doors (closest to the sink) is starting to peel from wet hands. I dont know if I can just paint over these with some kind of paint, or can I peel all the laminate off and do something with the particle board?
