    Window tinting?

    We have a sunroom on our house that gets hot as hell and it has two doorways leading into the house.

    I installed french doors in one opening and I'm working on getting a door(s) in the other but I'd also like to tint the glass.

    DARK on top and average on the sides.


    Anyone have a recommendation, advice, horror story, etc for me?

    I'm in north Arlington and I'd like to get it done ASAP.

    I know it isn't recommended but, I did some windows in the front of my parents house (those little "half moon" fucking windows) and their storm door and it made a HUGE difference. Plus now you can't see inside the house if it is darker than outside.

    Goes on just like regular tint. It makes double pane (plane, plain, pain) windows sweat.

        Why not get solar screens instead. Then you can let the light and warmth in during the winter by taking them off. As many here can testify, they are highly effective.

            It's 254 sq ft of glass. Shutters and screens sound very expensive... I don't drive trains or anything, I do have a budget.

                Ya I did it myself. I think the tint is about $30-40 and will do 1 big ass window or 2 smaller ones. Lowes/HD carry it.

                  Maybe if we planned to live here longer.

                  Looking to move in 3 yrs or so. Just want an interim solution

                    When we lived in Hurst our house faced west, and the fucken sun BAKED the living room. I got all the fron twindows tinited by some outfit (can't recall who tho) and I wanna say it was maybe $250 or $300 or so, but made a HUGE difference. I mean, very, very noticable difference. Of course, I cut down all the trees, so the sun baked the entire front of the house all day.

                    If they are square windows, you could easily do it yourself. Just go buy some tint, spray bottle and Squeegee and have at it!
