  • Custom Home Builder Recommendations?

Wife and I are looking to build our next one as we have not been able to find EXACTLY what we are wanting.

Anyone recommend (or not recommend - Keen from what I've read here) a local contractor?

    Basics:

Little Elm, Prosper, McKinney area 1/2 acre or more.

Found some plans we like online - 1.5 story with 3 car, patios & pool.

good finishout - hardwoods, lg tile, granite, quality cabinets, fixtures, etc.

    Energy efficient

I don't know anyone up there well enough to recommend. However, I can tell you that "on-line plans" rarely work out. I may use the floorplan for idea's, but I always take it to my architect to have it drawn up.

Yeah, really just have it as inspiration for a builder, nothing more. I ordered plans online when I gc'd the last home I had built (when I was still in Yankeeland) and ended up scrapping them and paying an architect to redraw and modify - lesson learned.
