  • How do I keep my indoor plants alive all winter?

My herbs did great outside this year and I'm bringing small samples to keep them inside and hopefully to plant outside next year.
My plants tend to die indoors. What is the proper way to take care of indoor plants through the winter?

Try to keep the right amount of light for them while indoors. Cut back on watering also.

      Herbs? riiiight.

      light, plant food, soil, water.

Use the correct lights (l.e.d.s are new on the market and kinda pricey, but they have a great light spectrum or you could do metal halide, high pressue sodium and the cheapest is a fluro bulb) Just make sure lights/flowering periods are timed.
Nutrients (find out what you need for what plant)
      Grow medium
      water and ph tester.
Neem oil or another non toxic bug spray.
      and watch for mold.

This light setup is a mega-fuckton cheaper than any setups I had in the past. It also doesn't seem to consume as much power or emit as much heat.

L.E.D. Grow Light is an incredible way to grow plants indoors, in sheds and in green houses. This is an engineered gadget made for the indoors gardener, whatev

Those are awesome but some of the cheaper one don't emit the correct light spectrum and end up a glorified "light bright" only with just red and blues.
The good ones are tri-band, quad-band, all the way up to 6 and even 11-band grow lights. Some companies are even offering full-spectrum and white light LED grow lights, which are almost hid (they suxorz)

          I have this one along with a hps/metal halide/1000w ballast/vented blower hood.

Just saying, these would be good for indoor tomato growing and maybe some herbs......
