I'm trying to find the best way to store our bicycles in the garage and out of our cars way. So far I've found a few ceiling storage racks but don't know if they are any good. Anyone have any experience with these?

Hooks on the ceiling or wall are what most people use. If you don't use the bikes much, then hang them upside down by the wheels. If you use them a lot, then hang them up against a wall by the front wheels. -

I have racks that I got at home depot. they hang on the wall with 4 bolts and have little arms that hang out and you hang the bike on the top tube. Works great on the road bikes but is a little different with my mountain bike. Since it has such a drastic slope in the top tube it sits a little sideways and uses up a little more space but still works fine.Comment

Each mount holds one bike. So I have 4 of them. With the height in my garage which I figure is probably standard I am able to put one up high and mount a second below it. My mountain bike is a 29er and a bit larger and I just have it by itself, and I have another rack hook for all my extra wheel sets.Comment

I hang our bikes with the single, rubber coated hooks. Just make sure you find stud center. I drilled smaller pilot holes so I don't split the stud, then hang them by the front wheels. I don't park in the garage so i didn't need to hang them by both wheels.Comment

2x4 & padded hose hangers from northern. about $20 to hang 4 bikes.Comment
