  • Can anyone recommend a good insecticide for plants/bushes?

Hey guys, so i finally got my garden in order, and it's starting to bloom nicely then all of the sudden almost overnight my flowers were picked clean... leaf stems are still the but the leaves are gone, now theyre starting to grow back, and now theyre moving to my butterfly bush and my indian hawthorn bushes too. Hell i even inspected my pear tree and it's being chewed on as well. I had been noticing some gray looking worms on my driveway and in my garage... thinking these might be the culprits. Anyone got any suggestions for a spray or feed that will stop this?

    Thanks Randy

If you are looking for an organic solution that allows you to eat the veggies without a thorough washing I advise purchasing a concentrated solution of bacillus thuringiensis (BT) from your local home depot of lowes. You typically dilute and apply to a plant after it has been watered. The caterpillars will take a couple bites, and then just sit there until they fall off and die. BT is only harmful to caterpillars, so birds can eat the dead worms that fall to the ground. BT isn't harmful to humans either.

    EDIT:

I think the worms you are describing are the exact kind I have been getting as well. They feed at night, if you go out around 10-12 at night you should see them. We had thousands about a week ago. I kid you not, we were out having drinks late one night with friends and they were crawling up everyone's legs, our house and plants... it was quite a sight. BT had them eliminated in a couple days. We only noticed this after they demolished our garden though, everything has grown back and started budding since.

Thanks bud, I'll have to buy some of that this weekend, working 7am-9pm all week hope my garden survives!!! It always pisses me off when i try to grab them and they curl up... so it makes it to where i have to squish them.

Good luck. We were so pissed the morning after they moved in. Every leaf on every plant had been eaten. We found some inside our bell peppers and jalapenos... so much work wasted. We only lost a couple onions, but we tried to get the problem fixed as fast as possible too.

They explode if you throw them hard enough.

That should work... I was able to find a highly concentrated one that you mix with water. Just look over all the different solutions when you go in, the ones with BT will have them clearly written.
