I would look into something much better than a liner shower pan. As suggested above kerdi or laticrete hydroban. Both can be applied over the midland and drywall. Last thing you need is a leaky pan

Agreed. I had the Kerdi system installed and ended up with a major leak that soaked my master bedroom carpet. After they demo'd the area, turns out the contractor only used the kerdi on the walls and not the floor. Also cut corners (literally) by not sealing the corners and not using the Kerdi drain. Now that the entire system has been installed correctly I will be leak free for a long time to come. Highly recommend it

Note to self: If I ever build a house, use a board member, regardless of cost.

I drop all my showers 3" on the pour. Even if the pan leaks 20 years down the road, there's no damage.

That's the way my old house in Houston was. When I asked the builder why the slab wasn't poured that way, I was assured I had nothing to worry about. Lulz

I ended getting the Oklahoma territory rep from Schluter out on the install to supervise so I feel very comfortable with it now. Here's the shower ready for tile...

            Sorry for the threadjack....

The 4x4 area where the shower heads are and the drain is dropped. The other 4x4 section next to it is not.

As long as the plumber used a continuous piece for the liner, you should be fine.

House looks great! I am looking to build in oct-nov. If you don't mind around how much was the cost of just the house build? Trying to get a idea on general cost. Thanks

Wow...no doubt that builder/their subs have made some mistakes.
It is tough building homes...as it's basically an open manufacturing plant.
I can't tell from the pics, but does your chimney have a "cricket" or did I miss it?

Good luck on the finish out.

Looks good man. Sucks that you had so many issues with your builder/subs. I found a good contractor with the first thing that I did with my house. He has done a few things since then. People told me I was lucky, and seeing things like this makes me realize that I have been. Just had my roof done, I'm very happy with that as well. Looks good man, make sure to keep us posted.

                              And LOL at the tags!
