They were supposed to email me the pictures they took of the "damage" to my roof and the first thing he says is that they sent them to me. I proceed to whip out my phone and see the email, but no pictures and I tell him that. Then I tell him that I spent thirty minutes on my roof doing the 10x10 thing all over and only found two spots that were damaged and didn't understand how those two spots negated me getting a new roof and gutters. I flat out asked him "How are two spots sufficient enough for me to need a new roof?" He was visibly uncomfortable and all he could say was "Well, I don't know. He's the adjuster.", and pointed to his buddy that's been roof hopping. Now all of the sudden someone who is wearing a roofing contractor shirt, going door to door inspecting roofs has no idea how to answer my question. I just turned around and walked off.
What was the name of the company?

No, but I did walk extra slow to give them plenty of time to come back at me with any sort of response.

I'm gonna toy around with this for awhile before I say. I want to see where some things go.

Me neither. Don't do door to door sales.

My roof needs to be replaced and I can't seem to get a straight answer out of most of these idiots about anything. It is all double talk and bullshit. I do have a nice estimate for $15,000 for a roof that Mike quoted at less than 50% of that amount. Fucking clowns.

You just can't get a straight answer out of them is all. I'd like a real bid (like yours) to start off with, not a bid that they are going to send to the adjuster. I wanted three bids total. I have one total which is yours. Then I have some bullshit about $15,000 to replace the roof. Then another for $10,000. lol

Mike, have you heard anything yet about people getting federal aid for home/roof repairs yet?

What can you tell us about this Steve? I had not heard of this program. Did Donnie tell you about some, think he could stop in and help the board out with more information?

I guess I should probably rethink my "pay your own way through life" way of thinking and investigate ways to have my fellow tax payers subsidize my business. Might get me in good with obummer...

Here are a couple of links that yahoo produced:
Federal grants to repair or replace a roof are available to a limited group of people, mostly older people and those with very-low incomes. There is government help with roof repairs and replacement available through nonprofits and local governments and limited help for those in disaster areas.

No, just a story I saw on the news last night about the state is working on getting federal aid for those hit hard in the latest storm. What struck me as odd is that they clearly stated this would be aid for people WITH and without insurance.

I know of one guy out by Seb who the Red Cross is rebuilding at no cost, as he had no insurance. That is awesome of them to do.

Stuff like that I totally support. My outlook is if you have insurance, you should not be able to access any grants or the like.

X2 Mike I'm all about trying to help people that can't afford that much even if I really don't make that much on a job if the people are good people that need help.
