When Is the best time yall have found to put it down and what does everyone like to use? My yard is Bermuda and will need some type of weed n feed and something that'll help the grass spread due to dogs and winter rain.

I just follow the Scott's program. You can go on their website and put in your zip code and type of grass and they'll tell you what and when.
I would read the bag carefully to make sure it is for your type of grass.

I have better results with the weed/feed shit from Lowes on bermuda, Sta-Green or something (can't remember, but started with an S, and not Scott's). I think it was a purple or yellow bag for bermuda.

Scott's worked great when I hade St Augestine grass, but this bermuda is fucken hell to keep green and weed free!

And remember that most fertilizers will kill trees and bushes.

My bad. Weed and feed. But the truth be known, grass furtilizer can kill trees and bushes. Most grass furtilizers release too fast for trees. Too much fertilizer too quickly makes "toxic salt" levels to the root system.

I know I am gonna get eaten alive for this comment but......we just signed up for a year of Truegeen.

My yard has been slipping and slipping due to lack of attention and my cheap wife not watering when it needed it the most. I am to blame though because I was out of country and relied on a yard guy to cut and keep it fertilized. My prize for 3 years with him is a shitty yard with tons of weeds.

Oh, and have you ever pushed a spreader over 1.4 acres? It is a bitch.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

u do realize that tree farms fertilize there trees, once yearly with a 21-0-0 ammonium sulfate.........thats 100% release in the spring , i dont recall the rate but thats whats used.

and there are "some" weed and feed products that are harmful and i dont know which are sold in the "home depot" stores, so yes be careful

i have been fertilizing lawns for nearly 20 years, in a pecan orchard no less, many are original customers , fertilize 5 times a year, 2-4 pre emergence (depending) and never, never killed a plant or tree

"Most" weed and feed has the ingredient "Atrazine." Poison to trees and shrubs.

Of course they do. Thats a ignorant statement. But with the setting that you apply to grass is usually too much for trees. Fact is that in most cases, trees have plenty of fertal ground to be healthy. You add to a already furtal ground with a quick release grass furtilizer and you are over doing it to the trees causing more harm than good. No?

you have no idea what you are talking about, yes theres plenty of nutrients in the ground, but theres no reason to think that fert will hurt trees, thats just a dumb statement

                              Yes or no?
The most heavily recommended "weed and feed" fertilizers contain atrazine, a toxic chemical herbicide that is quite effective killing your trees and shrubs.

                              Yes or no?
Most lawn furtilizers has time release that can bee too fast for trees. Too much fertilizer too quickly makes "toxic salt" levels to the root system.

I'm no expert, but its easy to read and ask experts questions.
