Stuff at tractor supply works wonders for driveways... Not sure if it would kill the grass itself or not.

my buddy swears by weed & feed. spray lawn, mow and bag.

I'm gonna try it because the yard at my other house is full of fucking weeds right now

Its winter time your yard is going to be full of weeds unless you rye out. Otherwise Weed killer depends on the type of grass you have in the summer.

gonna have to wait on some warm days (preferably upper 70's at a minimum)with relatively warm nights (50's atleast) to get anykind of weed killer to work this time of year, i sprayed my lawns during that warm week we had about 2-3 weeks ago with a pretty heavy dose and am just now starting to get some yellowing on the weeds

Best bet is to bring a picture of the weeds with you when you go talk to someone in the lawn care area of home depot/lowes, etc.

right now if you just feel the need to try, use a broadleaf weed killer of some kind when its warm enough, the only grassy weeds growing are poa anna (green clump with the seed heads on top) some wild rye or just plain ole winter grass, all of which will die when temps get warm enough, you can spray them also but it needs to be much warmer for a good kill

I think we discussed this in another thread recently. Not much you can do with the temps as cool as they have been beyond mowing it. Henbit has taken over my yard.

and if you havent already done it , put out pre emergence for spring weeds to come

Just spray Round Up on the whole yard now if you have bermuda. The bermuda is dormant and won't be affected. Then toss out the pre-emergent and feed in the spring when the bermuda becomes active.

this is true , however with the previous warm temps, some of my shorter cut lawns have green at the base and i am not going to take a chance on the grass taking up the herbicide then get a hard freeze and kill the grass, ive seen it happen, and as a rule of thumb, if you see your local golf course fairways start to green up, its probably not a good idea anyway, and mine are and have been greening up for the last 4 weeks or so.
