Shed - buy a kit, buy plans - or have it done?

Shit, I missed the last few replies to this thread for some reason.

Regardless, I finally closed and we moved in last night. The shed buidling will begin soon.

Brooks I have a 10x10 shed that I bought at Lowes in my back yard. They work good and you can pick which ever shingles you want to put on to match your house. However, what I did not like about the prefab kits is they are packaged to ship as small as possible. So that means your floor frame has to be spliced together for the 10' sections. Not to mention many of the studs they give you are not very straight. I went and bought 10' studs to make the frame of the floor and used all of their bent POS studs as my floor joist since it did not matter if they were not perfectly straight. There were a few other parts of the design that I thought were a little flimsy so I beefed theme up as well. I did not have to do it but it just made me feel better about it. Hope that helps. I've got a 10X12 two story shed in my backyard that I will sell to you for $500. It has windows, electrical outlets galore and interior lights.

You'll have to figure out how to move it or take it apart and reassemble it. It's the mother of all sheds, but I would love for it to go.

i'd get some books/videos with plans and do it yourself, it can't be that difficult for something that small. and to me i think it looks a lot more classy if it sort of matches the decor of the house.
