  • Remodeling bathroom...

Hell of a day to begin demo, but it's a head start on getting it done. Plans are to put down a travertine tile floor, replace tub, new tile around tub, paint, etc.

    Here is before:

Ceramic tile, marble, slate and travertine advice - free and friendly from the folks at Tile Your World/John Bridge Forums

You're welcome. I would recommend using GP DensShield for your backer board in the shower. You can get it at Lowes/HD now and that stuff is super fast to cut/install vs the hardiebacker stuff. About the same price too. Just tape the joints with the right mesh and use some Redguard over them and all the screws just to be safe.

Yesterday we didn't get much done except removing the toilet and bath tub. We also got the new tub/shower faucet valve installed.

Today, we got the mirror and vanity out, now laying down the hardibacker on the floor so we can install the new tub and lay the travertine tonight.

Tomorrow will be an off day as i have plans outside of the house.

I'll post more pictures later tonight.

Kinda wish I had seen this earlier, but oh well.

I'll be doing essentially the same thing to the same size bathroom in the near future. The hall bath is the only room in the house I haven't remodeled. The sink area is done, it's the tub and surround that's all out of date.

Nice design. Bathroom remodelling and kitchen remodelling are become now popular .

My wife and I recently did ours... its a terribly small space. When we ripped out the tub we found that the insulation used to keep our clean water warm was dirty Mexican porn.

                    Here it is gutted.

Here it is with the new tub and tile up.

Here is the stripe in the tile. This is still tile.

Here is the travertine tile floor before grout.

I still have some minor details to finish like base trim, but it is fully functional.

Looks good. I like the way that wood grain tile looks.
