When i first moved into the house it was already painted like that, but we repainted it the same color to give it a new look.

All i did was run tape over above the tan where the white was and kept painting it tan and tan.. it took a lot of work because sometimes when i took off the paint, it would drag off some of the tape and white spots would show.. There are still some spots that need work.

Well I guess it is a good thing you had that pre-existing line. lol I have only had to do my kitchen as of yet and an 8 foot stretch is a PITA with no guide. Anyways, thanks for your response.

There will be no isssue's putting a TV over the FP. How hot do you think the wall will get? If it's that hot, the least of your worries are the TV.

Any electrician worth his salt, can drop a lines down the FP chase without a problem.

i've got my 55" lcd mounted above my fireplace, and it was a very simple installation. i have built-ins on each side of my fire place, so that's where my ps3, fios box, etc are, but you can easily mount them elsewhere... there are a few different options to be able to control everything without line of sight.

My game room has the same wall to ceiling transition. When I painted it I just measured up the same amount in each corner and snapped a chalk line across the walls to follow while I put up blue tape for the edge.

Having hung dozens of tv's over fireplaces, as well as on my own fireplace, I am a fan of doing it. I'm not sure geek squad will do this for you. Post pictures of the final product if they do.

Funny that you would mention the phone and not the old ass radio sitting right next to it as well. LOL.

I went to a party last night at an apt club house that had a big tv over an outside fireplace. It looked pretty cool until you realized that it was warped from the heat of the fire.
